Dermaplaning is a form of manual exfoliation, using a specific tool to gently remove 3 weeks worth of dead skin cells and fine facial hair.
Not at all, it is very relaxing and most clients fall asleep during the treatment.
Every 4 weeks
No, the hair will grow back to exactly the same as it was before you had the treatment. The hair on the face is called Vellus hair and is not structured in a way to grow back thicker or darker when dermaplaned off as we are not removing the hair from the follicle.
No, the skin may be slightly red IF you have very sensitive skin but this will ease within 1 hour. There is no healing time after Dermaplaning and it is a fantastic treatment to have done the day before a big event, as your skin will be GLOWING and make up looks flawless.
You would need to stop using retinols or exfoliating acids 1 week before the treatment. No shaving, waxing, threading or plucking 1 week prior.
Do not exfoliate for 7 days after the treatment, or apply anything that is too harsh on the skin, e.g. alcohol based toners, strong facial acids. Avoid direct sun exposure for 3 days post treatment - if you are in the sun, apply an SPF 50.
If you have active acne that is pustular or cystic acne, or if you are on acne medication. Please enquire about the Hydrating Acne Facial in this case.
